Hi everyone. I am about to get a new bike, most likely a Cube Stereo HPA 140 Race. So, I thought I'd treat myself to my first set of new pedals and shoes for ten years. I have wide feet so need shoes that'll do that.
Riding will be trails in Scotland. So, a mixture of dry/wet/rocky/muddy/gravelly. I also like to get if the bike and hike a bit.
Big dilemma is flat or clipless. Clipless will only be if it comes with a decent platform so I can ride with my wee boys at a whim without sticking my cycling shoes on.
So, two questions: which brand or brands do a wider fit shoe that keeps the elements out to a certain extent?
Which pedals should I be looking at for all round trail riding that can be used with cleats or flats?
Cheers for any suggestions.
