Evening,

Its time to either get my shock serviced or buy a new (to me) one.

I have a fox vanilla which is ace but needs a service as its starting to behave slightly unpredictably. At the best part of £100 there are new discounted shocks and second hand ones for similar amounts of cash.

I've still got a manitou swinger- fine up hill, replaced by the vanilla coil for more smoothness downhill.

I've tried a monarch 3 position job, its fine but I bought a slightly short one to experiment with my bike and its not worked out.

It has to be a non piggy back shock to fit my frame, I don't think a cane creek one will fit as its too wide.

I ride: in the peaks 20- 40 miles, trail centers, the odd big day out in the lakes, the odd big day out in wales.

So what do you suggest?

Rock shock monarch of some kind?

Fox CDT off the classifieds

Fox Rp something or other off ebay?

Get the vanilla serviced?

Should be 200 * 50mm or 200*57

Cheers

Martin

A monarch should work quite well. Lots of people selling them, particularly off Megas after upgrading shocks.
I had a Reign and switched to a Mega. They both had the same i2i so I took the shock with me.

Not sure on your model year though.
