Have run 1x10/1x9 without expander before pre NW/clutch days. Got a new frame on its way and I'm drawn to 1x again. What is the best combo out there in terms of shift issues/durability(thinking NW ring) One up & cage, Wolftooth, hope something else?

One up expander + rad cage is pretty solid, using with a zee mech.

Black spire monoveloce ring
Xt cassette
Hope expander
Slx med clutch with rad cage

Shifts flawlessly and no dropped chains but does drop down 2 from the 40t when back pedalling, although not caused an issue when out and about.

Common theme here, but the Rad cage is a great little product and really worth the extra, smooths it all out. After that, the expanders and NW rings are all much of a muchness - I think OneUp do a package deal though, which might be the way to go.

Middleburn 34tooth Hardcoat N/W
Shimano 11:36 cassette
OneUp 42Tooth expander
XT long cage clutch mech
Saint Shifter

I've never had any issues shifting, so can't say if the RAD Cage makes much of a difference, maybe different bikes are more susceptible to the stretch on the mech..?!?

Absolute Black 32 Spiderless for SRAM cranks.
One Up 42 + 16 in Hulk smash green.
SRAM X9 type 2.1 mid.
It wasn't too flash getting off the 42 with my old, worn, non-clutch X9, but a new one helped a lot. Even wound the B screw 1/4 of the way back out.
Also shaved 1/2 a kilo by ditching the front derailleur & chain guide.

Hope T-rex 40t retainer ring and a standard X9 mech, no issues didn't even need the longer b tension screw.

I'm running a hope NW and Hope extender with a SRAM clutch mech and it's been excellent so far.

The extra cog in the cassette is needed as there is a big jump lower down the range.

I've got this set up:

On-one ringmaster 32t
XT cassette
One Up 40t with 16t to replace 15 & 17
One Up RADr cage on a Deore clutch mech
KMC X10L chain

Been faultless through all sorts of crap riding conditions and some dry ones too

AB Oval 32T chainring
Superstar 40T Expander
Zee FR mech + RADr cage
XT cassette with 16T to replace 15 & 17T (used a 9sp from SJS without issue)
Bionicon C-Guide

Not dropped a chain since I went 1 x 10.
