I've not had the opportunity to get out on the mountain bike much recently..
But I have found myself using the SS hackbike, fully laden with kids, shopping, building materials and suchlike on a daily basis of late..

The next time I get to ride my mountain bike, with only my own weight to propel, and 18 luxurious gears, will I feel like someone has just fired me out of a cannon...?

You may feel a bit stronger, any speed may have gone.

It should, I often ride at weekends with my daughter attached to my bike. Current transport is a Adams tag-long, I have go so used to this on the limbs I find it odd when I ride on my own

so then.. say I had taken the foolhardy step of entering 35 mile off-road reliability test later in the year, then perhaps I should be getting some miles in too..?
