about £42-44 on eBay for the same looking model but various brands.
Any reason not to? Ive been meaning to get one for ages, but am now just rebuilding a chainsaw and it would be perfect help.

For those that already have one, what cleaning medium are you using? I say you can't beat petrol but I know that's a really really stupid idea, and my dermatitis would object too 🙂

no advice on specific models or cleaning fluids but I'd attach a waterproof apron on the outer edge so that any liquid that hits it flows back into the washer. You can leave it hanging down for larger parts but it'll keep you clean doing smaller stuff (with long gloves).

can you buy an apron, or do you fashion your own from some plastic sheeting and coathangers?

PArts washer fluid

Works well ... says dilute 50:1 - 25:1 works really well 😉

wear gloves , wear glasses. You think petrol plays with your dermititus , that stuff will really dry your skin out - i find it more effective than diesel even.

Some cheaper options around that works well how ever many can be smelly and even deadly. the above doesnt smell up the shed too much.

oh and you wont regret it ... the [s]one at work[/s] one i use came in dead handy for the landy

I have a larger version, but never really use it. This is always better:

For cleaning heating oil is good, or the proper stuff. Just drain it off into a container and let the crud settle out. I tend to just use brake cleaner mostly though.

ah, I see what you mean WW.
I was thinking you fit an apron to the washer, not to yourself! 🙂

I was thinking of popping into Machine mart so that I could pick one up for £48 (so only +10% on eBay), so I could get that cleaning fluid while I was there. Cheers t_r

Marko - I have used a washing-up tub in the past. Interesting that you still do.

kind of both. What I linked to but with the front cut and attached to the washer so fluid just drains back in if it splashes on to the apron. Depends how vigorously you brush, I think!

Bugger!
Drove into town and machine Mart are out of stock. At least I picked up some fluid, the brush/hose attachment and some PPE gloves. I will order the cleaner from eBay instead.
