How is Ben Vrackie as a ride? It's nicely accessible from the train and looks like it might be a rideable path to the top. Possible to combine with other routes in the area?

I'd not bother carrying to the summit, instead I'd suggest riding from the wee lochan down the NW side to Killiecrankie and its cafe, then explore the Garry riverside/lower Tummel (below the iron footbridge) & Faskally trails. Loads there, use an OS 25,000 and follow your nose as well. A longer loop out W to loch Bhac and NNE to Bruar is also possible. Also worth exploring above the golf course and across to the A9 concrete viaduct, often photographed.
