A quick look on the map, looks like a circular loop from Rowardennan, which way would be best, clockwise or anticlockwise? and roughly how long would it take?

an out and back is better up the main path rather than a loop via the Ptarmigan Ridge

My OH and I are walking it on Monday, weather permitting. Is up and back best for walking, too?

Worth walking the loop. Either direction is popular but I prefer going up the main path and down the Ptarmigan ridge. The Ptarmigan ascent is steeper than the main path.

Aye, a consensus. Bike - up and down main path. Walking - up main, down ptarmigan.

Personally, I'd walk up ptarmigan, and down the main. Much nicer that way in my opinion.
