Help

Can't decide between these two helmets.

Not able to try them on as there's none in stock local to me 🙁

So has anyone had any experience with either helmet or preferably both.

Any advice appreciated.

My Mrs has the Feather, the birds version of the feature. She finds it very comfy. I noticed that the strap is single rather than double, if you follow me. I don't know if the points where the straps attach to the helmet ate as well protected on the Feather vs the Stoker, as its just a wee bit of plastic pushed into the foam. Visor attachment / adjustment is good and solid on the Giro.

I don't know if anyone on the forum has bought a Stoker yet? 🙂

Can't comment on the Feature bar trying a medium on in store with a view to buy come payday and coming to the conclusion that it fit just as well as my Giro Xar.

I have however got a Bell Stoker after the psa on here and can honestly say it's much comfier than my Xar. The peak is fixed if that matters but didn't notice it myself. Can't honestly say if in use the Stoker is comfiest than the Feature, however basing it of the Xar it is.

Sizing is comparable/standard, I'm a medium in both brands.

I ride with the Feature quite a bit. It's not as hot as I was expecting in summer (although I'm not a sweater).
Comfy fit.
The top vent is in a good place to strap a torch along.
It's a little plain-looking but I only paid £35 delivered from Fat Birds, so I consider it a bargain.

i have both. they appear very, very similar, to the point where i would suggest they are manufactured by the same facility. the cradle and adjustment are identical, the way the cradle attaches to the lid is identical. the pads on the stoker appear slightly better. the feature's pads disintegrated after two washes and took an age to come in to stock, anywhere, the stoker's appear slightly more robust but only time will tell. fit is very similar too.
if you can find the stoker in stock with halfwits for 20 quid as i did it's a no-brainer, ironically. 😉

I have both and consider the stoker to be like a feature but with better venting...really comfy lid in fact and you get overbrow ventilation. New one this year has an adjustable visor. I'd go with a stoker..

Bell and Giro have the same owner which is consistent with robbonzo and Del's observations (and possibly a factor in Halfords clearing out both - potentially dropped a supplier?).

Bell and Giro size and internal shape is very similar, I use both where some other brands wont even sit on my head (similar to motorcycling, Shoei's are perfect and I cant get an Arai on).

I don't know if anyone on the forum has bought a Stoker yet?

😀

if you can find the stoker in stock with halfwits for 20 quid [s]as i did it's a no-brainer[/s] you're overpaying as you should be getting it for £17 with the 15%-off promo

Thanks lads!

After all these comments have been taken on board I think it's going to be the stoker....unless a cheap feature pops up 😉
