You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I tried to ride at CYB today but wasn't even out of the car park before I suspected that my front caliper was leaking lube onto the pads = no brakes = not good for the Beast. In fact, the slope in the car park was hair-raising enough 🙁
With nothing more than a multi tool on me, I stopped in at BB to see if they could do a lash-up. They spent 15 mins tightening, degreasing and grinding to fix up my bike with something resembling brakes. However, because they "could not repair it" they would not accept any payment. Top Blokes!
A year ago, I winced when I replaced a smashed rear mech there for twice what it would have cost online. Now though, I'm glad I did, and next time, I certainly won't be wincing.
Unfortunately, by the end of Dream Time, my disk was fully lubed up again, so I had to turn back. But thanks again to the fettlers at BB for at least getting me a few minutes on the trail. Next time I'm back, I will make sure that they make some money out of me.
What goes around comes around... I return there today but have left my Camelbak and water bottles in the shed. I will buy one at CYB and if it's overpriced. I won't care...
