Don't know anything about them yet as this only happened at a family do last night. My cousin has got this bike and he's only ridden it about 3 times and being in the forces he is away alot so he said did i want it.

I currently ride a Cotic Soul and love it but have mooted the idea of a full sus for the future.

So really what i'm asking is what do they ride like and are they any good?

A lot of used bikes need a good amount of work, you should give the bike a good check make sure everything on it is sweet!

Just hope those three times were not followed by 3 jet wash sessions.

I have had an old 05/06 open basket Trance and Reign and they are solid frames, basic design little changed in 6 years. It can be said the first frames were on the heavy side for 100mm, but then I have never heard of one breaking. I think the original open basket design was too expensive to produce after the first batch, so in came the glory hole design. Remove the bolt holding the top of the rear shock and check suspension bearing movement, all should be smooth.
One of the "Usual suspects" on here can provide an economical complete bearing set.
Old 130mm revs are a perfect partner - go bigger than the original 100mm spec to raise the BB a little and most regard bike handles better. Have fun, it's a strong bike - well stronger than my ribs anyway.

I've got a 07 trance with 130mm forks on it. for a 100mm bike its damn good. only short travel trail bike i'd prefer is an ST4.

I have an identical setup (Trance 06, with Fox vanillas 140mm and a Cotic soul (Fox TALAS)) Both Great bikes. Only issue with the trance has been the upper swingarm bearings as they are tiny and crumble easily. Simple fix though and a few aftermarket replacements are available. Ridden in the Alps, Lakes, Scotland and wa sgreat fun!

Just picked it up and it really does look like it's hardly been used 😀 so with a bit of tlc and a sort out of the setup it should be ace, only thing is its a medium and i'm 6"2 but it might work, i actually have shorter legs and a longer body so hopefully it'll be alright.

I'm 5"11 with a medium, Thomson laid back post and a 90mm stem. This with a saddle set back might work.
