Was down for an increasingly rare trip to GT today with Msjimmy. Wanted to have a nice lunch afterwards but was loathed to hit the cafe after bad experiences "some time" ago. Anyway, by the time we were back it was just easy with requisite outdoor seating so just went there.

Expected; rubbish service, average food, ropey coffee.

Got; good, quick service, nice tasty food (including envy), good coffee.

Place is a bit smarter in a nice way, too. So thumbs up.

Caveat; it's still not the hub etc etc

It was a noisy, smelly, muddy hole.

Peebles Hydro are running it, massive improvement on the motorway services standard model from the previous franchise.

Some nice comfy sofa's too.

Thought it was nice inside when I was there last, decent food - know it's been said a hundred times, but what a wretched location, though. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to find a cafe site in Glentress forest with no views.
