I need to change the bearings in a rear hub. It's probably a Halo as it has a 6Drive freehub but branded as a Cotic one.
Any recommendations on bearing pullers? None of the bearings in either the hub or the free hub are blind. But there is no where to a drift/screwdriver in some I'm going to have to use a puller.
I've already got the Bearing Pro Tools headset press so was planning to get their drifts for pressing the new bearings in. But if there are better alternatives for similar or less money please do shout. I hardly ever have to replace bearings so don't need an expensive set. Although I do like shiny tools!
I've had reasonable success with the Bearing Pro expanding thingies on frame bearings where it's been impractical to knock them through.

You fit them inside the bearing, tighten it up to expand it into the inner race and drift it through with a punch. Doesn't work with a blind bearing but should work fine with a hub.
I've got a cheapo set like this and it's served me well.
most hubs i've swapped bearings on will drift out with the axle.
Often there is a spacer in the freehub between the bearings. You can push it to one side which then gives you somewhere to get a screwdriver in against the bearing and whack it out.
Last one I did I still couldn't get it out, even with loads of swearing and ended up getting a new freehub but you might have more luck.
Thanks Davros, that looks ideal. I've got various pullers and presses for car stuff. It all seems to come from China whether i spent a fortune or a few quid. The current bearings have done at least 11,000 miles so I wont use them often.
All ready tried moving the sleeve between the bearings but this one isnt moving.
I use this kit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233539319588 on my bike, I prefer it to the slide hammer approach but both do the same job.
As Davros has said, sliding hammer, works well and does the job on frame bearings and many other things, i've fudged it to do car jobs, house jobs, etc as well, love them.
As above we have the 9 piece one with the sliding hammer from ebay. Had it for years. Done loads or ours and mates ones never failed with one.
