Any recommendations as which set to get for a variety of bike related jobs? Thanks

Wheels Manufacturing. Possibly my favourite tool in the workshop. Comes with a whole set of drifts/spacers, plus I've made some unusual sizes myself.

I bought a set for my bike from here: https://www.bearingprotools.com

not a generic one with lots of sizes, but pretty good prices I thought and gives me what I need for my bike 🙂

Check out braeview_engineering on eBay; I don't know why they haven't come up on this forum more in the past! I just bought a press and a few drifts from them last week.

Jim was dead helpful as well, I needed a spacer for a freehub body to press in the inner bearing and he knocked on up for £2 extra.

Quality is really good and it was cheaper than everywhere else.

I'll definitely be using them again

Only just noticed that bearingprotools.com and braeview_engineering on eBay are the same company.

Do you have a big beard and like hardcore music? Just wondering if I know you from another conversation. Don’t be worried if the answers no!

and one of these, which sorts most of the stuff out.

Brilliant, thanks everyone much appreciated, I'll look through all those and make a decision now finally.

Marin - not sure if that question was directed at me. If so, no.

I have the RRP one. Not the cheapest but works well.

Don't get one of the cheap ebay presses which is just a threaded bar and two bits of tough plastic. Nothing to ensure they're aligned, so will happily push in at an angle. Bought one to do a headset, gave up after half an hour of faffing. Luckily I'd also recently added a woodwork vice to my workbench, which made an excellent headset press.

the Braeview press is handy if you have a narrow diameter hub. The Wheels Man is too big/fat to fit in narrow hubs.

Agree with don't buy the eBay plastic ones with threaded rod. Utter garbage. Bearing goes on on the piss every time without fail.

Really like my Wheels Manufacturing set. Nicely made and comes with every size I’ve needed so far.

I’d be tempted with the RRP one as they can remove (some) bearings too, but if you need more than a size or two it gets a bit spendy.

I’ve used the threaded rod and nylon washers but added larger rod and I’ve had no issues with fitting all my bearings

I've got something similar to the Boca one Tracy linked to but without the handles and don't find it great to be honest. The presses are plastic and cut up and I often end up with the bearings going in wonky.

Think I might treat myself to one of the bearingprotools.com ones in the near future with the handles.

Bought one of the Braeview engineering presses recently, the press worked very well. The extraction tool was a bit pointless. I ended up having to rest the linkage on a Hope wheel support on still needed to be hit with a hammer. Could have just knocked them out with a socket. I asked them if they could make me a drift for a 61808 bearing which I was having trouble installing but they didn't reply.
