Can anyone suggest where I might find suitable extraction and pressing tool(s) for pivot bearings rather urgently? Tried CRC, which showed stock, but when it comes to it no stock till next month. I need them ASAP for trip next week.

Brilliant! Thanks Rusty Mac. If only I'd found that last week, would have saved me a lot of hassle. Cheers

I take it it's a blind bearing? For most, the ideal extraction tool is a punch and a hammer and the ideal fitting tool is a socket and a hammer.

Santa Cruz website has the tools you may need I think. Failing that a good bike shop may have the tools to lend or buy.

Yes and no. It's a Motolite. Main pivot bearings (x4) are a bugger. Got those out, but there is some scoring to the shell. Gawd knows how you're supposed to avoid it. The rocker bearings are easy to access as the plates come off easy enough. Will try tonight with rod, bolts etc and if no luck will have to wait for tool. Cheers for the help guys, losing the will to live with it!!

Spud!

Give me a shout and I will see if I can help, chances are you will have what you need to service the bearings lying around.

Cheers kaesae, done most of them last night with threaded bar, washers, bolts etc. Just have main pivot to do (well half) tonight. Proving tricky! I'm sure with some patience it will come good. If not, will drop you a line.

Kaesae, do you do a puller for blind bearings? (i.e. Specialized pitch).

Hello tinas

I have something that will do the job, I am working on a more advanced tool but for now I have this.

quite simple but it does work well if you get the technique right.

Drop me some mail and I will sort you out with one cheaply!

The tooling kits are very handy, they are also designed to be intercompatible, so a few tools will do a lot of different jobs.
