I've an integrated headset in a project carbon frame that makes a bit of noise. greased, ptfe wrapped, whatever, it eventually starts to crack/creak. Its not the bearings, I assume its not the csu. I'm pretty sure its the interface between bearing and integrated frame cups.
Now i see some brands use an assembly compound in their pivot bearings so just wondering if there's a suitable loctite to use to assemble the bearings into the frame race, tighten everything up in correct alignment and allow to cure.. and one that wont fall apart during use but will still allow disassembly?
Loctite 641?
So many different products
RS Components do their own version at a much cheaper price than Loctite, medium strength is what we use in our workshop (mainly on BB's, but i'm using it on my own headset and it's been fine). If you're using it on carbon fibre, apparently, it needs an activator as well to help it bond correctly.
