I'm looking to add a be seen helmet light for roadie/audax duties. Needs to have front and rear output. Bright enough for dawn/dusk as well as full night, but not looking to dazzle anyone or see by it. A battery life for a full overnighter during the hight of winter, say 18hrs.
Exposure Link plus seems about as good as it gets. Though not a deal breaker, my only one gripe with this is the non-replaceable battery. I'm not a fan of this idea in any light.
Anything better out there?
Exposure Joystick? I really liked mine as a to-be-seen helmet light that also worked on the bars.
*Edit, just seen you need a front and rear combined - ignore me!
I’ve got one of these for commuting. Seems ok - no idea how it compares to the Trace, but probably cheaper!
I've got a Cateye Duplex, runs off 2 AAA batteries, so light I don't notice it's there.
Flashing rear with solid or flashing front light.
Plenty good enough to illuminate the bars/pedals/rear mech you tilt your head that way.
Currently £16 from Halfords.
Would definitely recommend.
Edit, but that Moon one looks rather good too...
If you’ve already got an Exposure helmet light, their Red Eye Micro is a good addition. Very bright for its size.
The Link is excellent, but before I got mine I just stuck a couple of small cheap back up lights on my helmet. They last forever in flash mode and take CR2025 type batteries.
Exposure link is great as they pulse rather than flash, so more visible IMO, also have loads of different options. So double flash in day light, rear flash, front solid night, or whatever you want.
