We've decided to go to this and have been asked by the people organising the trip to provide our BC membership numbers. Is this necessary? I'm not a member, and don't have any intentions to be.
Anyone ridden this before? Is it going to be a problem?
We have valid medical certificates, we're members of CyclingUK which provides us with 3rd party cover, and we carry individual medical insurance that covers sporting activities.

Participation:
Open to all the F.C.I. members and the Sport Promotion Bodies members (ACSI, CSI, UISP, CSAIN, US ACLI, ASI, CSEN, LIBERTAS, ASC, AICS, OPES) with a sport-medical certificate attesting the health conditions to practice competitive cycling and foreign amateur racing cyclists with their Federation regular 2018 membership card.
No UDACE membership card but only the replacement ACSI-UDACE membership card is allowed.
The Event is also open to all the amateur racing cyclists and the people aged 17-18 and over 64, who are allowed to do only the Medio Fondo Course. For those who do not have a membership card, a € 15,00 one-day F.C.I. card will be issued. It covers the insurance for ‘third-party liability’ during the Event. For this card to be issued the participants need to SUBMIT THE SPORT-MEDICAL CERTIFICATE(CYCLING CERTIFICATE).

From your post:

For those who do not have a membership card, a € 15,00 one-day F.C.I. card will be issued.

Looks like that covers it.

I was looking at an event in Norway. You had to be a member of the Norwegian Cycling Federation but they did something similar for foreign nationals.

Thanks, it does look like that - we have 3rd party insurance anyway - but it shouldn't be a massive ball-ache to sort that out. We rode the Gran Fondo Eddy Merckx in June without requiring BC membership, and Paris-Roubaix and the 580km Tuscany Road event in September...
