getting bike ready for alps in a couple of weeks (woop woop)
i purchased a gamut chain device and to prevent the inner chainring bolts (Shimano Hone cranks) fowling on the ISCG bolts i've had to put 2 spacers on the drive side of the BB (HTII)
the BB shell is 73mm and the spacers are about 2mm
am i going to die?
No. Your chainline will be slightly out tho which will probbably really annoy some people on here. Oh and your splines wont be in quite as far as they are supposed to be but that should be fine.
inner chainring bolts? 😕
it's not uncommon to have toy file/grind them off to a fit chain device
not too bothered about chainline, mainly because it upsets a few people on here.
it's more the splines issue. my heart says it'll be fine, my brain says my ham fisted 'nuked from space' style landings will rip them out. there's still a fair bit in contact and i get a good few turns out of the end bolt on the cranks.
doesn't help that it'll be mostly unridden when I get to the alps as training weekend 1 was ruined due to poorly wifey and training weekend 2 is the week before we go.
GW - dual setup
are you using as flush chainring/ISCG bolt heads as you can?
are the ISCG mounts part of the frame or an adapter? (adapters can often be flipped to offer more clearance)
using the flush bolts as supplied, i could remove the washers but this still doesn't give enough clearance with a single spacer.
it's an integral ISCG05 mount
Chain devices can almost always be made to work with a good chainline (one way or another) but I CBA guessing any longer bring it round and i'll have a look at it/sort it out for you. 😉
would do if I knew who you were
Ah.. mummy told you not to go with strangers, good lad 😉
i just send pictures of myself to strangers i've met on the internet instead. want some?
I'm always willing to have a look 😉
