I have a vitus energie evo that needs a new BB.
It is a BB386EVO type and I have Rival GXP cranks. I'm going mad looking at this.
As I understand it PF30 and BB386 are the same in all dimensions except that the BB386 is for wider (drive to non drive) frames? That would mean that the plastic sleeve between the two shells would not be long enough, but that isn't the end of the world.
I would then need a PF30 to GXP converter to get from a 30mm spindle to a 24/22mm spindle on GXP?
I ask because one of my bikes has prime axle converters on an when I went to buy some more the only review says this doesn't work. Now clearly this is false (as I can see one on my 1 year old bike). My guess is that there is a seal or spacer that needs to be removed and to accomodate the width of the converter and the person writing the review has not done this?

The Prime BB guide says that I need their PF30 BB and a converter - there's literally a picture that shows this. Yet someone has asked the question and Wiggle said it wouldn't work. I'm assuming that it's just sloppy on wiggle's part? I'm actually hoping that since the two parts slide over each other there is enough excess in the system to accomodate the extra width of the 386BB?

We definitely need a new standard to replace all these existing ones with something simpler 😉
Can you not just buy the bearings? They're pressed into the plastic cups pretty easy, although you need to be careful not to damage the plastic housing bashing stuff in and out.
Yep, can't see why those converters won't work.
Or just buy a BB386EVO GXP BB

Also make a 386EVo BB for GXP, it has metal cups so you might have half-a-chance of removing it whereas the plastic cups on the Token could be tricky
