I have a Whyte 19 steel that is only about 5 months old or so, it uses the BB30 bottom bracket. Out riding yesterday in the glorious sun i noticed occasionally there was a dry squeek that i am virtually sure is coming from the crank/bottom bracket, seems a bit soon to be worn, it doesnt seem to wobble side to side though.

Any users opinions?

theyre not the best sealed bottom brackets i think. i went through a set of bearings really quite quickly and recently changed my crankset and found the relatively new bearings a wee bit rough as well. I think regular maintenance is the key. I'll be removing the crankset every few rides from now on to check and clean out any crap

I'm selling a brand new, unused fsa bb30 chainset cheaply if you are interested in replacing it

The bearings are probably fine and it's just the cover plate thing that needs some grease or oil.
If is the bearings then its easy to get those cranks off if your handy with a hammer, removing the bearings was a bit more effort. With the cranks off it would be easy enough to pop the covers off the bearings and add some grease.

My bottom bracket outlasted the frame.

It's not really even a bottom bracket as such, just two bearings pressed into the frame, as far as I know they're standard size bearings and should be readily available from a local bearing supplier pretty cheap. Unless you want to pay MTB markup prices 😯
