would like to drop the FSA rubbish my 2015 carbon 'dale supersix is running and pop in a 105 chain set

Frame states bb30 and clearly has a push fit bottom bracket, but most the converters for a 24mm thro axle are 42mm wide not the 46 I need. Shell depth is 68

Seems the products that would fit are pf30s not bb30s. Is this normal!?

Shimano press-fit is PF86 or PF92. Probably best to fit a Shimano BB for £20 instead of messing about with converters.

It's my understanding I need to use a non Shimano part due to restrictions of.bb30 size.... I do indeed not want to use spacers, and happy to replace BB with something that will fit from a third.party...

Have you take the existing BB out of the frame to measure? (also check for obstructions that may prevent use of BB that threads together)

PF30 shell ID is 46mm

BB30 shell ID 42mm

I replaced the BB30 in my specialized road bike with a praxis converter. Now have an Ultegra chainset instead of the specialized original.

Great bit of kit. Same converter fits PF30 or BB30.

+1 the Praxis.....and then you can replace bearings for pennies over and over once the originals give up*

* I know, it invalidates the warranty - but bearings aren't a warranty item so you can either have an in warranty BB with ducked bearings, or an out-of-warranty one that works still. Tough choice!
