Hi guys, found a frame on eBay which I may put a bid in for.
The only issue is the threads in the BB shell are a bit rusted.
How big of an issue is this?
The frame is slightly tatty but no damage other than surface rust by the looks of it and I could get it shot blasted and acid dipped at work to get it looking nice and clean and give it a re-spray.
Good idea or?...
A good wire brush should sort out some surface rust.
Fingers crossed I'll win it for cheap and is close enough to pick-up.
If a BB will screw in without a bit of TLC it'll be fine once I give it a clean up?
I'd try and get an LBS to chase the threads through with a proper cutter rather than forcing a BB in there - it'll give a far better result.
I meant just to see how bad they initially are? Quick screw in and then re-move.
Wire brush them and if they need it a trip to the LBS?
