Ok, I have a mk1 sc nomad frame meaning I have to use a bb mount for a chain guide. When I install onto bike by replacing the plastic spacer, I have contact between crank spider inner ring mount (no granny ring present-1x9 setup).
Save filing the spider down to fit, it appears I could put an extra spacer on the bb, leaving me with a 73mm bb with effectively 2 spacers on the drive side.
Will I die, or is this widely done by many?
bump for the morning crowd
haven't done this myself but i believe you'll be fine according to my mechanic mate.
I have the chain guide followed by a spacer on my Meta55 with a BB mounted guide, and I'm still alive 🙂
