i have a 'Race Face X Type' Bottom Bracket on my Orange Five... bought bike last may i think, when do the bearings need changing.... im a light weight rider so wear n tear may last longer ? i dont know i just ride the god dam thing..lol what noise shud i be hearing -(dreaded creak- not at the moment..
Keep going until there's play .TBH you have done really well , mine lasted 4 months in the summer !!!
Take the chain off and rotate it by hand. If it feels rough or you hear any crunchy sounds it's time to change it/regrease if possible. 🙂
Last May is pretty good going, although I think my current Truvative GXP has been going since June '08 with no problems. I think the secret is never cleaning your bike, so the caked on mud forms an extra seal. 8)

Mine had been going for about 18 months, but I think the Wyre Forest mud from last week has finally seen it off.
Sounds very poorly now 🙁
