Sooo, time to pick the collective brain.... any idea how to open this up without resorting to tourettes and a hammer?

I *think* the ends are push fit and glued, but before i bodge it I thought I'd see if anyone knows...

ok. monkey curiosity got the better of me, for anyone else coming across this in the future, the black shiny finish on the ends is a stick on cover for 4 screws.
The inside is pretty well put together, including what looks like a protection circuit for the pack:

If you see them advertised as waterproof, feel free to laugh though, there are no seals.
