I was looking to get an open light battery for my Magicshine 872. They list their battery as being 'suitable for all magicshine lights' but I notice that the battery is rated as 7.2V as opposed to the OE as 8.4V. What are the implications of this?

They are the same
the nominal voltage of both packs is 7.4v
The peak voltage on the charger is 8.4v

8.4v is stated because bigger must be better obviously

May not be worth investigating if you purely don't trust magicshine batteries, but a new more powerful and better made model is now seemingly available: MJ-6030
