Has anyone any idea where i could get a basic tool kit for my nephew as an xmas present ? I'm looking to spend around £20 ish , but so far i've only found anything like at nearly double that . Might just end up buying him a multi tool if not .
For taking with you (him) on a ride or to use at home?
Multitool for the former, get decent tools for the latter - buy cheap, buy twice. Maybe a set of Allen keys and a Tork spanner or two to start with.
Try this one

It looks the same as the one I have, (an x-tools) and I have built up a couple of bikes now with only needing some cable cutters.
How old is the nephew?
Surely a multi tool is as cool as a multi function pen knife to a youngster up to the age of 12 ish but without the missing finger come new years?
He's 20 now & just left home so hasn't really got any tools to call his own . He's wanting them for home use really as he's got a basic back up pack for when he's out riding . I'm thinking something including allen keys & an adjustable spanner etc.
I've looked at the Planet X kit ....i'd have got him that , but he's got Sram components on his bike so no good really 😐
Even though it says shimano I think you would still be ok with sram components too. I can't be 100% sure though.
Got to be honest , the more i look at it , for £20 i might just plump for the Shimano kit anyway - looks better vfm ( at that price )than anything else .
Cheers
I've just read now, that the shimano hollowtech 2 spanner will fit a sram gxp bottom bracket so I'm pretty sure you'll be ok
Thanks for that 😀
