I'm looking to fit a bash (but not a chainguide) to an X7 2x10 chainset, but when I last checked about a year ago it wasn't possible to fit something like a E13 Turbocharger as the profiling on the outside of the spider means it wouldn't fit.

Has anyone produced a bash that gets around this issue yet?

What about the new hope one?

Does that work with 2x10?

SRAM double chainsets won't normally accept anything in the 'big-ring' position, iirc. I seem to remember SRAM have talked about releasing a different spider, but you could try a simpler taco-type system (MRP XCG, for example).

So it's just an issue with SRAM?

Yeah, I had looked at those before, but I think previously MRP only did skids for singles or triples. I see that they recently designed one specifically for doubles - the XCG 40 - but it doesn't appear to be out in the UK yet. At least I can't find it online anywhere...

I'd imagine it's the same for the new Shimano XT doubles too, from looking at the spider.

What about one of these?

I would imagine that with a bit of filing you could probably make most bashrings fit though.

That does look very nice, but if I can't get an E13 Turbo to fit then surely that wouldn't fit either, unless there's something I'm missing?

The sram 2x10 cranks are 120mm pcd instead of the common 104mm of shimano.
Sram do make a bash guard to fit for Specialized, but don't seem to offer it aftermarket.
The MRP 2X/Truvativ X guide would be another option, I think they're the same & made for sram 2x10.
Or the new E13 TRS would be my choice, when they're available.

It's an extreme solution, but you could buy one of the new 2x10+bash spiders that SRAM have just released. I think they're only available as x9/x0, but would probably fit. They have a different pcd. I've just ordered a 38/24/bash, but I don't think they'll actually be available until March.
