As title.
I'm after a set of bars that have less sweepback than the standard 9 degrees.
800mm wide preferably.
What can you suggest ?
Cheers
Steve
I have a gamut cillos DH. It’s a bit heavy but I like the shape with 7 degree back sweep.
Renthals are 7 too. As are azonics but not sure if they do an 800.
Renthals are 7 degrees (they're what I run). Nice aggressive position.
If it's more reach you're after, Nukeproof Horizon V2 have a 9 degree sweep but the point where they're swept from is further out from the centre than a standard bar, making them feel longer.
Don't know the numbers, but my crank brothers bars feel noticeably less swept than the answer, azonic and sunline I've also had recently.
Roll your current bars forward to reduce back sweep. You get a bit of free extra rise as a bonus! 👍
I always used to insist on running bars with 8° 4° sticking to what I was used to, protaper then raceface but since trying nukeproofs with 9° 5° I now prefer them, maybe I've changed or its modern geometry thats played a part.
In true STW style, have you considered more sweep?
My hands sit on normal bars cranked inwards so the grip goes from the index knuckle across the palm so it would look like it should be less sweep. But swap to some 25deg sweep bars and they sit much more naturally because the grips running perpendicular with your wrist.
Cheers for the replies.
I'm looking at replacing the 780mm bars on my Rallon and they don't seem to have a lot of sweep Comparing to a set of pro tharsis carbon bars I have.
More sweep will make the reach shorter and I don't want a longer stem.
Annoyingly there is no details on the orbea site on the bars other than width and rise.
I've ordered some Chromag bars to see what they are like.
renthal bars have much much less sweep than muy nukeproofs.
i much prefer teh renthals but hte nukeproof was cheap!
exotic do some 5 back/3 up but I don't think they go to 800mm
