Anyone been up around Barden moor recently?
Just wondering if there's still snow up there?

I was on the other side of the valley (Appletreewick over towards Pateley Bridge) earlier this week and there were still drifts well above the height of the car in the lee of walls/ barns.

I wasn't riding so can't tell you anything about the ground though.

I was wondering exactly how much also. But just at a glance from my house I'm thinking plenty of stubborn patches remaining.

A quick bit of strava-surfing looking at the Barden Moor segments suggests slow-going as well.

Will still be useful, TBH. In fact, could you take a small shovel and clear a path through any remaining drifts?

If I could be bothered I'd jump on the bike and ride the couple of miles to the top of the moor and let you know, however as its cold currently snowing and theres a lot of snow on the western side I'm popping out on the road bike.

Some big drifts still on tracks around Beamsley and Round Hill.

Funny - not even a hint of snow falling out in Skipton. It's like entering another world two miles up the road!

Went up today. All rideable with just a couple of patches to look out for on the descent towards Bolton Abbey. Descent to Rylstone completely clear. Quite a bit of soul-sucking, drivetrain-wrecking mud on the 'singletrack' bit though. I wish they hadn't built it out of sand.
