I retaped my road bike on Sunday and used my goto tape, LizardSkins DSP. It's easy to unwrap and reposition so lots of room for user error in wrapping. I have also previously unwound it after being on for a few months to get into top of STI's, with no great difficulty

I use the [s]Specialised Roubaix[/s] Zipp Service Course Tape*, I had to take it off a few days after my last replacement and it came off clean and went back no trouble. It seems to be a sort of gel stuff

*I used to use Spesh Roubaix and that was fine too.

I bought some very nice FSA tape from Halfords recently for £10. It grips the bar well without being sticky and goes on and comes off leaving no sticky residue whatsoever. Highly recommended.

You can refit the ESI tape.

It's really nice, comfy and hard wearing tape, although dearer than the rest.

Fizik microtape unwraps fine too. The glue isn't really necessary if tension is appropriate. I've reused it from bike to bike as well as when swapping shifters. Lizardskin will probably self-grip even better.

Lizard Skins DSP tape has only modicum of 'stick' and is easily re-usable - just as well as I've been so cack-handed in taping that I've been known o have to tape a bar 2, 3 or even 4 times before it's just so...

I really liked DSP, but it ended up not being all that durable, didn;t even last a year (and last year was <1000miles for me!). Don't remember how it came off, but all tapes seem to stick better with time, easy to reposition for a few minutes/hours/days but after a few months they're a real * to get off.

Got Deda at the moment, and that's a * to get off, got so furstrated in the end I and attached it with a stanley knife so the bars are now horribly scratched. On the plus side, it's so durable I use it as grip tape on my boat!

Van nicolas, charge, PRO and SOMA all came off easily though. Might go back to soma actualy, it was really good.

My Fizik stuff unwrapped fine, didn't like it much though, very edgy

look at the price of planetx own-brand bartape... life is too short to reuse
IME it peels and tears where it goes back on in a slightly different lay-up

I'll just suggest DSP too having actually reused some.

Deda 'carbon effect' tape is really good and can be removed easily. It also wipes clean, even the white one used on a CX bike in mud.

EDIT - on sale for a fiver at Wiggle right now.. bargin

I've re-wrapped my Supacaz tape 3 times now, without it showing any signs of damage.

It's not the cheapest stuff, but it is very good.
