Hi!
Time to make use of the Singletrack hive mind once more.
I have a bar mounted BK 7even from Torchy the Battery Boy that I use for night rides. The light itself is great for my needs, especially considering the very reasonable price and good quality. It does, however, come with a rather flimsy plastic handlebar mount that seems ready to fail at any mo-ment, sending the light head into the spokes of my front wheel, pitching me over the bars.
Has anybody managed to bodge an alloy mount that will hold the light head firmly, but still make it easy to remove for daytime duty? I have been looking at the mount Lezyne makes for their XL se-ries, which looks quite promising… which other brands make something similar? I like the Exposure mounts too, but I think it would be hard to source the bracket that goes on the light itself.
Any suggestions?

what about adapting a Garmin or GoPro mount?
I once glued one of these onto a phone case so I could clip it into a garmin mount:

I've got Cateye mounts on my homemade lights, as they sell the bit that goes on the light separately ("spacers"). Not alloy, and can be tricky to get in the UK, but work very well. See http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/alternative-handlebar-clamps-for-lumicycle-halogen-lights

I got a cheap go pro type alloy mount and then the appropriate attachment to screw into the light unit. It's a different light unit but if your's just has a screw into the base then it should work the same way.
Cost about a fiver altogether from ebay.
The Exposure cleat has the advantage that you can adjust the angle whilst attached to the bracket, by putting an Allen key through the hole in the bracket.
