Does anyone know how the sweep or bars is measured? My mate and I have 2 sets of bars, one fatbar and the other fatbar lite as below:

Fatbar, 10mm rise, cut down from 780mm to 720mm
Fatbar lite, 30mm rise, kept at 740mm

Both have 7 degree backsweep and 5 degree upsweep. However, the fatbars are more comfortable to me, surely they are the same? Albeit 10mm different at each end. Does the rise make a difference to the geometry of them? Where is the sweep measured from / to?

Anyone able to enlighten me?

The sweep is measured from the centre of the tube at the clamp section where the bend begins.

Imagine a straight bar without any sweep in the stem then add your rise and angles from there.

I would say that the difference in rise, width and rotation is enough for your wrists to fit better with one than the other.
If the clamp sections are different lengths then this will affect the overall geometry.

Thanks Neilwheel, makes sense so I've gone with the same bars as my mate.
