So was out tonight on the Rune and as this is the first winter with this bike I was a little shocked how full of mud the area around the linkages got- to the point where the back wheel locked up!
So other than not riding it in muddy conditions have any banshee owners got any tips on minimising the build up?
Iv not had the wheel lock on my spitfire but its has got very clogged, Iv seen others with a marsh guard style mudguard on both chainstays abd seat stays, could be a option
I cable tied a strip of old inner tube to the rear triangle braces,it didn't stop everything but certainly reduced it.
Similar idea to momo zip tied piece of mudguard to rear triangle keeps alot of crap out.Could also try silicone polish on rear making it difficult for mud to stick.Suprised the wheel locked as theres loads of room there must have some pretty heavy clay round youre way
What they said. I used a template from the web and modified it. Cut the guard out of correx, so it's nice and durable.
I'll get some pics later.
Still get some mud in the links, but no where near as much as without it. Some of it gets thrown there by the front wheel.
Cheers guys, was thinking that might be an option but wasn't sure there was room. Teeth grinder, any idea where you got the template from?
