Shimano, hydraulic, no obvious sign of damage, leak, or anything having popped but no pressure at all. The bang could have been coincidence I guess...
So, do brakes pop? I've never heard of it. Any point in a numpty attempting a fix, or is it a shop job or new brake?
Ta!
UNless a piston pops out or a seal breaks it should not pop
Shimano brakes are pretty much non serviceable so you need to replace the broken bit - caliper, cable, lever. Then you need the fluid and bleed kit as well.
It is probably as cheap to get a new brake.
Bang when you pulled the lever, presumably
ARe there still pads in there ?
Pads are in. Went from working fine to not working in a moment. Odd one.
puddle of brake oil anywhere ?
does the lever still pull & return smoothly ?
have you looked at the entry points for the hose ?
Happy to read this thread is not repeating a variation of my Xmas2013 RTA! 😆
