I agree, bu there's already a rule isn't there? Ok it can be circumnavigated by not too subtle means but the rule is there...

Certainly for repeat offenders.

Something no one wants, for too much money. Why, oh why, will no one buy it? Mail in profile if you want pics.

Problem is Mods probably don't have the time to keep on top of these endless threads, I don't understand why people don't just put an advert on the classifieds with what they would take for the bike. Not hard is it.
The only other option I would suggest is having either a sticky post or just one lengthy post allowing users to ask for pricing advice and suggest their views to others. Got to be better than the constant "I've got a 26" bike, have a look thread"

I totally agree. If I wanted to sell my 2014 Zesty (L) 160 X-Fusion, XT all over in great nick I wouldn't do it in a thread.

😛 Despite it being a retro 26'er I have no intention of selling my much loved bike.

They do, 48 times. Then, because they want a silly amount of money no one buys it, so they start another thread asking why it's not sold.

1st advert- keep it buttoned!
2nd and subsequent ads, especially with a lazy link- open season for ribaldry!

They only work as people respond

But I think most of the time the questions are genuine

I have to say I posted a 'value my' thread, as I had no idea of a realistic value. Got some good advice from Njee actually & sold it for £300 more than the seller actually initially thought it might go for. Advertised it on here, BR & FB for a week then put it on eBay for best offers, with a high buy it now. Gone, done easy, but that was a nice shiney bargain for some-one.

Result, well done!

I don't really mind valuation posts as much as 'why hasn't this sold?' posts - with the latter there's one incredibly obvious reason, price. I know both are 'illegal' on BikeRadar though!

Maybe a thread that tracks the sale price on bikes on here for valuation purposes.
