Now they look great and seem to have great flex/comfort.

Not for the DH'ers

The most gnarr I get is dropping off a kerb, so they'd probably be OK. Interesting idea but not sure what kinda bike they'd suit though. Can't imagine them on my MTB or road bike. Thanks for sharing.

Expensive, pretty interesting though. I have a set of the old Crank Bros Cobalts, which are probably about the bendiest bars ever- they took their lightweight carbon XC bar, stretched it to 780mm, and put it on sale for a laugh. It might as well be made of rubber. It'd be horrible in my big bikes but I've had it in a rigid XC bike and now my fatbike and it's absolutely phenomenal, I wouldn't be without it. Not good for control, except, having your wrists not explode is very good for control.

Wouldn't mind trying these, definitely not paying what they cost though! There was an old Ragley carbon bar that had bamboo in it I think?

Agreed the cost is high.

I'm interested in such a flexible and comfortable bar. Particularly as it's the polar opposite of the stiffer / MOAR technology bars we currently have.

I wonder how other wood might fare. Yew bars anyone... Normally used to make longbows...

Apart from the price I'm in!
Would look very cool on a nice single speed commuter or similar.
I don't think I'd like flexi bars off-road though.

Great idea at a ridiculous price. I’d give them a go if they were cheaper. Agree that yew bars could be interesting too.

Anyone else now imagining a bar/crossbow combination?

Could probably do interesting things with a laminate bar.

I am now! For maximum gnar just use a longbow. With a long top tube, long stem and the saddle slammed all the way back you’d have a bit of draw. Where to keep the arrows? Pannier, anything cages on the forks 🤔

I have offcuts of Bamboo, Ash, Ipe, Maple, Hickory and some others all left over from making bows. I reckon there's a winter project in here somewhere....

I have idly thought about making a wooden frame with some 'suspention' in the style of the old Cannondale scalpel using bowmaking techniques, what could possibly go wrong?

You could use the dropper post for hands-free release. I really want one of these now 😀

Just make sure your lycra is tight enough to hold any looser body parts that are dangling from being caught in the string as it releases....
