You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Mini aracer's 6th birthday on Saturday. Last year I made him a jump ramp. This year he wants another ramp "to land on when I do jumps", but there's no way I'm giving him a gap jump at the moment (and constructing a table-top seems like a lot of trouble). So I was thinking of something nice and simple like a balance beam for him to practice on (the bonus being I could play on it with my unicycle).
Anybody got any simple plans for something like this, or know where I could find some? I guess the main bit is pretty simple, just take a plank of some sort and put supports at either end, but it's the transitions I'm not quite sure how to do. Need it to be nice and portable, but still stable when in use, and also clearly not something which is going to take too long to build given my limited timescale!
Thanks in advance for any help.
A simple plank may bend too much, hollow box section or upside down U if you're handy with the woodwork, with pivot mounted end transition wedges?

Thanks for that, sniff - some useful stuff there. Like the idea of the see-saw.
