Anyone tried both and have any opinions/advice? Capacity and sizing/fit tips also welcome (Evoc seem to do loads of sizes). Looking for a general day pack big enough for winter/Lakes but not massive. It'll need to hold up to 2L of water and a thin shell jacket, possibly a small extra layer in winter, plus grub and minimal toolkit.  It defo needs to be stable, comfy and functional.  Not bothered about what's fashionable or any gimmicks. Ta for any tips.

Nope ..haven't tried the Evoc ..but the HAWG will suit your needs very nicely ..

The best compliment I can pay is that once riding you forget that it's there ..aptly named Holds A Lot of Water and Gear..

Hi

From your description I would say the HAWG may be too big.

The Mule LR is almost identical but slightly smaller. Very nice bag though.

I also have tried Evoc FR Enduro and the way the waist straps work it is ultra stable. Mine is a 14l but I think some are 16 or 18l capacity.

Slightly smaller is Evoc Stage 12 which again suits most of my needs but waist strap isn’t as stable as the FR as it’s a different design.

Cheers

Steve
