Is anybody familiar with the Backhill of the Bush Bothy? I was planning a wee tour of the Galloway hills, staying here for a night but this article has made me think twice:

What kind of state is it in and how likely am I to met with a bunch of drunken neds if I turn up on a Friday night in April?
I used to stay there quite a lot - many, many yeas ago! Surprised da yoof can be bothered to make a trip out to that far to trash the place. There's another bothy not too far away isn't there - White Laggan? That was always nicer I thought.
I'm surprised too. It's pretty remote but I think the access along the forest road has improved in recent times. White Laggan looks even more accessible so may of suffered as well but it doesn't seem to be mentioned by the MBA or FCS.
White Laggan is a far nicer location, maybe it is a bit busier with normal people so the scrotes stay away?
