An injury, a move to another part of the country, a lot of sailboat racing, a wedding, two children, a midlife sportscar crisis and a lot of weight gain later... I am coming back to MTB for fun and fitness.
Took my 5 year old around Llandegla Blue on Sunday which was good fun but I now have a list of bits and pieces to get before we try Gisburn. Have searched the forums a bit but any advice would be good - there is so much choice and don't want to waste cash on poor gear.
Shoes - My old Shimanos are shagged so looking at ME7 - these OK?
Lights - Had Exposure in the past and was thinking about a MaxxD - are Exposure still worth the extra pennies or are there better, cheaper lights nowadays? Time is precious so want to get some evening/night riding in.
Saddles - Somehow whilst moving between houses and being lent to my dad, my Fizik Gobi has gone walkabout. They don't seem that popular now and I was looking at a Fabric Scoop Radius as a similar replacement - are these any good?
20" tyres for kids Islabike - anyone have any recommendations for a slightly meatier tyre than the standard job?
TIA!
Shoes, can't beat the value of any of the Shimano shoes. I've tried others but come back to Shimano.
Lights, lots to choose from but again Exposure just do the job properly and well. Not cheap, but the last forever and dont have wires to connect them to batteries.
Saddles, well can't help there as I dont have your bum 🙂
