I'm at Centreparcs over the christmas week and by then my daughter will (if she arrives on the due date) be 5 months old. I'm having a nightmare finding anything suitable to put on the back of the bike for her. They all say 6 months+

Anyone have a solution? Thanks 🙂

only briefly.

My wife thought we'd all get squashed by a bus and vetoed any further progress.

If it's just at Centreparcs you'll only be riding for 10 mintues in a bus free area. at a time and they'll rent you a trailer.

Yeah there's no traffic other than other pushbikes in Centreparcs. Car seat strapped to a trailer with some fire brigade approven rope then!

Thanks.

tbh, it's so far away I think you'll need to reassess nearer the time - the 6 month thing is more about them beign able to support their head and being able to sit properly. Some kids do it earlier than others any way.

My son was walking at 8 months. Although at 15 he now seems to be making up for it by staying in bed 23 hours a day.

Yeah I thought that too but I just wanna know my options because if it comes to the time and we still haven't worked something out...PPPPPP...proper planning prevents piss poor performance ^^

I'm only 18, 19 next month and I too was walking at 8 months and also spent 23 hours laying in bed between the ages of 15-16, it's normal 😀

Yeah thanks lol. Really looking forward to it. My partner not so much but she's the one going through the pain I suppose, once the worst of it's out the way she'll be fine. Luckily I have supportive parents and both myself and my partner work, myself 2 jobs, so unlike possibly 90% of teenage parents we'll be ok 🙂

If you do decide to go for a seat rather than a trailer (not sure I would at that age but each to their own) the Weeride Kangaroo is a good option. Not as much support as the rear mounted ones, but they feel much safer to me and she'll be able to see more than your arse as its centre mounted (over the top tube).

I've used weeride for my eldest son but we recently bought a second hand rear mounted seat for him as the youngest is going in the weeride. The rear mounted one feels horrible - throws the bike off balance, especially when he's wriggling (which is most of the time).

I'm desperately trying to find a more suitable centre mounted seat for the eldest now so we can get rid of the rear mounted thing.

Both of mine have gone onto bike seats at/around a year or more, but that's mainly down to the weather! (both born November/December).

Good luck by the way!

We have done this with our last two and it works fine, did the Manifold trail on Wednesday and he slept the whole way, he's about 12 weeks old here

The harder thing is towing two kids

Stainy is your car-seat quite literally 'dropped' into the trailer?

In that photo it a bit high, I use about 4-5 ratchet straps(like these to hold it in place in a more reclined position.

He did 2-3 hours in it no problem. I only use it on the traffic free routes we have in the peaks. But you'd be fine at centre parcs.

I made a mount that the rails of the MaxiCosi Cabriofix slotted into then locked into place. The mount was attached to the trailer on vibration isolating mounts from Ebay. Our lad was in it from 6 weeks (and he arrived 6 and a half weeks early). Used it on everything from GT red (slowly) to Great Glen Way. Even did the green DH at Alpe D'Huez.

Now he's in a Bobike Mini+ up on the front.
