Hello all.

Curious about whether anyone still uses Ayup lights nowadays...TBH, I'm wondering if anyone has any bits and pieces they may sell, in particular the harness to use as head-torch...

I unearthed a box with Ayups in the shed at the weekend and now want to use them for something...

Thanks.

I've still got mine, just looked and i must have bought the set that didn't have the head torch option.

Still using mine, no longer on the bike, but for Night Orienteering and Trail running.
So the headtorch harness is in use, sorry.

Hi also have a set but no head torch harness. Sorry.

They do still sell parts though.

PSA But they don't send batteries to the UK which is a royal PITA. I'm down to one battery only now, with no spare / back up so it could be the end of the road for these otherwise great lights.

Ironically enough, they blame Brexit...

Edit - just looked £38 per battery. They don't have a switch on them though

Funnily enough, both my sets have been turned into head torches.

As a bike light, they seem to have fallen way behind everyone else.

I'm still using mine as a helmet light. The two small batteries packed up a year or two ago but the big one's still going strong. When it does go then I'll just replace the battery as I really like it as a helmet light with a brighter broader beam light on the bars.

I finally upgraded to a hope R8 this winter. Ay-ups are still fine if you are alone, but if you are on the front of a group all you can see is your own shadow.

I still use mine as a helmet mounted light off road and as a bar mounted set on a commuting bike.

The MTB batteries battery works with them pretty well but not having a switch is annoying. I wish they at least had an online switch on them. The unplugged cable is annoying when riding during daylight.

Ayup stuff comes up fairly regularly at cheap prices on FB marketplace, Gumtree etc in Oz. I got a full MTB set plus 8 (!) batteries in good condition a while back for about 100 GBP.

If you struggle to get what you need i'm happy to help you source something.
