Apart from genuine, and expensively shipped from Australia,

and

Any other options I should be aware of?

Would be great to find a replacement which includes a switch.

If it is the only reasonably priced alternative, so be it, just be nice to have an on off switch and power levels would be even nicer.

I thought they had a UK distribution center? Has that gone now?

I've sold a few of these over the last few weeks. I will see what sort of alternative I can come with as regards using a switch. Might have to be in a box to accommodate though, but will see what I can do and report back.

I'll be needing one sooner or later and one with a switch would be handy.

Their UK thing went quite a few years ago now.

Smudge, if were talking separate switch and battery, cost is obviously an issue, but what would be involved in a remote switch? Wireless might be nice but will be expensive overkill, more a junction box and a remote button nearer to the grips?

It might not work, just thinking outloud really.

I was just about to post saying what a decent, helpful bloke Smudge is to deal with - two batteries and a set of lights from him here - and suggest you ask him about the possibility of adding some sort of switch option, but he's kind of beaten me to it. Anyway, recommended fwiw 🙂

Thank you BWD 🍻

mrmo, it would just be a simple box with a switch on/off on it so I don’t think a remote switch would be needed.  Still have to think about suitable strain relief out of the box or it will fail like the Ay Up cables do on their batteries. Then being in a box something to secure it to the frame. Plus keeping costs down as well.
