R5 this morning - dog and cat carcasses found in rendering plant for use in animal feeds and meat product bulking. Anyone remember BSE? In fact they are even speaking of rumours of rat DNA found in France!
The chap on the radio was saying that once rendered into constituent parts it could be used almost anywhere in the food chain.
You will only find Rat DNA where you find rats ie everywhere.
We don't eat dogs (probably) so not an issue 🙂
If you start looking for it, you'll find traces of rat on most foods.....
Just been listening to the program and i admit i found the spanish response to finding "Dog in Dog food" to be amusing, "so?, it's not that big a deal is it" , you've gotta love the spanish and their usual response of a "casual shrug of the shoulders" with regard to everything.
And apparently their is unsubstantiated rumours of rats in the food chain, cue the ub40 song "there's a rat in me kitchen"
