Heading down there for the weekend.

Worth taking my full suss over my rigid Stooge or will it be overkill?

ive not ridden there but would imaging the full suss would be overkill.

if you are there its prob worth heading to moors valley as well to ride the blue trail. only short but it is a nice trail considering the terrain is limited. pump track at watch moor at the Verwood road end of moors valley as well.

deffo rigid for that.

you can pretty much ride to moors valley from Avon tyrell with a few bits of lane thrown in. some nice trails around holt heath back to moors valley as well for a bit of an explore.

A hardtail is fine for the red route, as well as the surrounding countryside (New Forest loam, sand and pony crap)- anything over 130mm would be excessive.

Of course, if you do venture out into the forest,  you're not supposed to go off the fire trails, as the Verderers live in the wrong millennium- horse riding is fine, bikes aren't.

Thanks all.

We're just staying at the site for a night so I thought i'd have a pootle around the tracks there at some point along with something easy through the forest to Mudeford Quay for a pint and back.

Any route advice welcome. It's with the girlfriend so i'm not bothered about it being a gnar-fest.

My original post was more about the trails at Avon Tyrrell. Didn't know whether my Stooge or Bossnut would be best to take.

Yeah, if it's just onsite, rigid's just fine. If it's the BBB race tracks, they're quite fun.

Shame the "shore" got dismantled.

When is it people think a FS is the better option than a HT? Obviously it’s personal to the rider but do people honestly feel over biked on say an average Blue trail on a FS or under biked on an average Red trail on a HT?

guess it depends how smooth it is? rigid has to be faster on a smooth snoopy trail thats not got much in the way of big descents.

When people just ride what they want without asking first?
