Whats the red route like there? Enough for a days riding?

There is a video of the pump track, which kind of looks a bit pony (though it could of been the slow pace of the rider doing that...)

And there is another of the jumping "gravity" course, which looks alright if that's your thing if a bit short.

What about the red run and north shore area? Enough for a day or going to be disappointing?

While its good round there, it is designed for kids.

If you are trying to compare it to a welsh trail centre you'll be disappointed.

The pump and gravity track are fun, as is the north shore.

When are you down there?

If you google for Big Bike Bash pictures the are a few showing the different trails.

The red route is about 4 miles or so, not really a days riding on its own but through in a play on the gravity track and the pump track, ride to Burley for lunch in a pub and a potter around the area and you can fill a day.

If you head down for the August Bank Holiday there is substantially more happening.

Just thinking about hitting it up this weekend instead of the regular Lordswood ride... only 20 minutes drive and I like pubs (something Lordswood lacks)

You should join us for the Thursday night slow ride some time, who needs a pub when you have "The garage of Beer"?

If you are only travelling from Southampton it is probably worth the trip. The trails are quite similar to Lordswood in terms of terrain and roots.

Ah cool - it looks like we're going to check it out this weekend then!

Yeah I keep meaning to catch the Thursday ride - I don't finish work till 6pm tho 🙁 and over Ringwood way, so would take me 40 minutes to get there, and I'd need to eat - so it's tricky. Could dive into the Tesco I guess for a quick snack.

Why do you need food when there is beer?

Anyway, if you don't go to Avon Tyrrell on the Saturday you are welcome to join us : http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/wca-thank-you-ride-the-chaos-approaches

Not trying to belittle Avon Tyrell (I've never been), but have you tried the Singletrack at Moors Valley? If not, it is easy to link into a network of fire roads that take you to the Northshore and pump track at Watchmoor, other 'unofficial' singletrack and pubs (if required). If you look round there is easily enough for a few hours

PS - There are some lumps, bumps and jumps near Watchmoor park if that is your thing.

{edit} not trying to put you off of WCA's offer either

You could try AT in the morning and Moors in the afternoon (or visa versa)
