I had noticed the bite point on the lever on the front brake getting closer to the bars as the pads wore down. On my Stroker Rydes a pad change resets the bite point back to normal but I replaced the front pads on my Juicy Threes on Saturday, pushed the pistons back in, loosened the tri-align caliper, centred the caliper then nipped everything back up.
Now the bite point is even worse than with the old pads and the lever is nearly touching the grips before I get any braking power.
Bleed needed or something else???
they sound like they need a bleed but not sure it is connected to the pads issue probably there anyway.
Simple job to do did three brakes yesterday in under an hour
If the bike was upside down when you pushed the pistons back, any air sat in the reservoir will be sucked into the system as the pistons "relax" when you take the pressure off them. A bleed should sort it out(other problems not withstanding), there shouldn't be air in there at all but often there is.
Avid Juicy 3s - bleeding essential roughly every five minutes ime. 😛
