Hey,

looking for some cheapish brake pads that people have had a good experience with.

Links welcome... not looking for expensive postage or it kinda negates the price 🙂

Cheers

Rob

Always used Superstar, no problems here.

Used Superstar pads in my Avid Juicy and Elixir brakes for a few years now.
Both sintered and Kevlar.
Good pads , sintered can be noisy, but last ages . Kevlar don't have the longevity, but I think I prefer them and don't really know why ! Perhaps they seem a bit less 'grabby' .

many coming out of the same factory (or two) with different packaging

Clarke's, Fibrax, superstar, etc. not much difference, pay your money, take your choice 😉

giddyrob - if you send me £2 to cover p&p I'll post a couple of brand new sintered pairs incl spring clips to you.

I don't have the brakes anymore but have found these in my spares, I'm not sure which brand they are as they're not on their cards.

I am using RWD sintered and they seem to be very good and not at all squealy - whereas I found Avid sintered very noisy.

I got some cheap sintered Clarks ones from on one... 4 quid a pair

they're pretty good actually - no squeal, work well etc...

@esher shore

Fibrax ones are made in the UK, they're more powerful than Clarks / Superstar etc. Have a more consistent feel, are bonded better than the competition (3 times the strength of everything else in sheer testing) and the lady that runs the machine that makes them is the only woman in the world to do so.

Sintered if you get them roasting hot / live in the desert.
Semi Metallic if you live anywhere else / ride xc / trail centres.

Hopefully this works. ^^
That's Tracey, She's the master of cables, there is another Tracey that makes disc pads but she's not in today.

The above picture was taken over a year ago and needless to say, it's much tidier now.
