I need to get my Elixir-C's bled as both levers are almost to the bar before engaging, is it common for these brakes to go saggy? Its not the pads. Not had a great deal of use and never had this prob on my XTR's....
Would changing to Goodridge braided cables improve things?
Pistons that are sticky/need freeing up, and air in the system are both commonplace on these. Take the pads out and get the pistons moving in and out freely, maybe clean them and lube with silicone oil, refit the pads and after checking the calipers are pefectly aligned (pads parallel to the rotor in all planes, and hitting it at exactly the same time), bleed it thoroughly. You'll probably find it now feels better than when it was new.
